Awesome Muhammad Asif gave another spectacular display to enter the last-16 round of IBSF World Snooker Championship in Sofia (Bulgaria) with an emphatic 5-0 victory over Vinnie Calabrese of Australia on Friday. Highly talented Asif constructed a break of 64 in the second frame while chalking out 63-40, 115-14, 69-65, 67-55, 67-15 win. This was Asif's best-ever performance in the global event.

Lanky Muhammad Asif, who had dominating Pakistan snooker scene in 2012, demonstrated superb cue control to rout Aussies cueist Calabrese. Faisalabad-based Asif, who lost in the last 32 round of World Snooker Championship in the Hyderabad, India last year, maintained a brilliant run in the event with his sixth straight win. After winning the opening frame 63-40, Asif was in top gear when he raised 115 points with break of 64 to unsettle Vinnie Calabrese. Third frame turned out be closely fought. However Asif won the frame 69-65 to forge 3-0 ahead. After winning another close fourth frame 67-55, Asif ended the match in style by wrapping up the decider 67-15 to storm in last 16 round.
